Hi, I’m Leandro, but on the road most people know me as The Montero Guy. This blog is where our family shares our road trips around the Philippines, all in our trusty Mitsubishi Montero.

Who We Are

We are a family from Mindanao. My wife, our kids and I love exploring new places together, from mountain viewpoints and farm resorts to island beaches, heritage towns and ocean parks. Our kids learn a lot on every trip, and we try to make each stop a little adventure and a little lesson.

Why the Montero?

Our Montero has carried us across highlands, coastal roads and RORO ferries. It’s more than a car to us; it’s how our family travels together. That’s why you’ll also find car care posts here, like our real-world PMS experiences, to help fellow Montero owners keep their SUVs road-trip ready.

Beyond the Road: My Work in SEO

When I’m not behind the wheel, I work in digital marketing. I have been an SEO specialist since 2010, helping businesses from around the world get found on Google. Today I also coach Filipinos who want to build a career in SEO.

MalachiSoft (founded 2018): a web design and SEO agency in the Philippines serving clients in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
Pinoy SEO (founded 2022): free and paid SEO and GEO training, where I teach as Coach Leandro.
SOVA – School of Virtual Assistance (founded 2024): virtual assistant training courses based in Cebu.

This blog is my way of slowing down and spending time with the people who matter most, while sharing what we discover along the way.

Where We’ve Been

So far our travels have taken us across Mindanao and the Visayas:

Mindanao: Bukidnon, Davao and Samal Island, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental
Visayas: Bohol, Cebu and Negros Occidental

And there’s a lot more road ahead.
