40,000 KM PMS for the Mitsubishi Montero: Member Perks and Honest Service at Motech Iligan City
Every Montero deserves a spa day, and ours just had a big one. The odometer recently rolled past the 40,000-kilometer mark — a milestone made up of countless road trips across Mindanao and beyond — so it was time for another Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS). As always, I brought her to Motech Iligan City, our home service center here along Unno Hiway, Miguel Sheker Avenue, Brgy. San Miguel — right in front of the MSU-IIT entrance.
Why I Keep Coming Back to Motech

- Air filter replacement — also a free service, with my own Shopee-bought Mitsubishi filter
- Brake cleaning and adjustment
- Suspension and bushings inspection
- Fluid checks — radiator coolant, ATF, and brake fluid
One thing I really appreciate: all the checking and inspection work is free. And here’s a money-saving tip for fellow Montero owners — you can buy your own genuine filters online (mine came from Shopee) and Motech will install them as a free service. You only pay for what actually needs labor.
The Damage: What a 40,000 KM PMS Costs
For transparency, here’s how the bill broke down. The oil change labor was free, and the brake cleaning and adjustment was ₱1,080 before the 20% member discount. On the materials side, eight liters of genuine Mitsubishi oil plus the C-312 oil filter came to ₱8,350, less the 15% member discount. All in, the grand total was ₱8,356.50 — not bad at all for casa-quality maintenance on a diesel SUV.
The team also flagged a few things for next time: tire rotation, wheel balancing, wheel alignment, and an ATF change. Noted — we’ll tick those off on the next visit.
Building HalinAI While the Montero Got Pampered
Motech’s viewing deck makes waiting easy — it’s air-conditioned and there’s coffee while you watch your car through the glass. I set up my laptop right there and got some real work done. While the Montero was up on the lift, I was busy building HalinAI.ph — the newest AI tool from my company, MalachiSoft. It’s an AI bookkeeper that lets you snap a photo of any receipt and have your books, tax computations, and BIR deadlines handled for you. Two machines getting a tune-up at the same time, if you ask me.
